384. Chris Williams Master of Group Coach Nation, Where “Listening” Is Revered

My guest today is the creator of “Group Coach Nation” he is non other than the Master Coach Chris Williams.

Chris and I start and finish the interview with personal things, our kids, and, what do we love about life aside from our respective career callings.

In between there is a whole lot of value and take aways that Chris shares about coaching, mastermind sessions, and general principals of how to share value as a great coach!

Chris thinks bios are dumb and made his team write this. He loves his wife and five kids, and loves adventures.

Not your average hiking adventures, but more like shark diving, mountain climbing, and driving a dog sled across a frozen tundra-type adventures.

He teaches experts how to build, scale, and launch high-ticket masterminds. He also is a bestselling author, ranked as a Top 10 Podcast Guest, and has a top 0.001% podcast.

(gotta love the 0.001% podcast reference!)

Quote #1

“It’s all about communication. So, And so I started just really diving in on that and because I wasn’t a good writer, wasn’t good at at at school, honestly, but I could communicate and I could, I could sit down and learn to listen and learn to replicate what people were saying and, and emote back and repeat what they were saying and get the gist of it, and then ask more questions to help them arrive at their own solution”.

Quote #2

“So the skillset really is, is really shutting up and just asking questions and letting people get there.

And that’s, that’s the thing I. I really am fascinated with, as a coach, a group coach nation, we teach a lot of that because I think it’s so important as coaches, not just to dump our information, but to listen so people can make truth applicable to them”.

Quote #3

“And, and I wanna say something to that. One is it’s not bad to try again and again and again. Two, get a coach. And if that’s James, you’re, you’re here listening to James, right? You’re, you’re not on the show for me. Listen to James. If he’s your coach, ask him questions like ask your coach questions about what you’re doing.

Have, have outside voices. Be in a mastermind, be in a community. You can’t do this alone. Get real opinions from people who know what they’re talking about. Invent the ideas in a sandbox and it’s gonna give you a lot more attraction when you do step out cuz stepping out is expensive emotionally, financially, and relational”.

Today we are in Salt Lake City with a high performer, a lady who takes big brand CEO’s and prepares them for the next leg of the journey. It is a specialty that developed from her as a young child, being curious is a good thing.

Find out in this remarkable interview with the Coaches Coach and Mentor, Brooke Casanovas!

Brooke Casanovas is the podcast host of “After Success.” She is also the Mastermind Maker. She curates the best 4 day experiences for high achievers who have just finished their BIG success and are asking “now what?”. Whether that be exited CEO’s, retiring professional athletes  or anything in between, she loves holding the space for reflection, future projection, and most important the ultimate connections at her yearly Masterminds.

Quote #1

“So, long story short, there was a lot of businesses that were started, honestly, because that’s how entrepreneurship is. Until I, I finally, became in alignment with like who I was, which is part of my message that we’ll speak about today. But throughout my journey of entrepreneurship, I attended multiple masterminds.”

Quote#2

“And what I thought I was going to do, was going to corporations and train CEOs on emotional intelligence and how to do this and create the same environment and train their leaders, their C-Suite leaders. But I was young and naive and I was like, I’m single, so I’m just gonna like, the world’s my oyster. I’m gonna go out and I’m going to just start a business of my own.”

Quote#3

“I wanted to create the best room in the entire world, but I want to do it for people that are in a really vulnerable space. And that vulnerable space happened to be CEOs that had like done the big thing and accomplished exactly what they wanted in life. I have no idea what’s next.”

Quote #1 Since I got my first iPad, so very familiar with the world and, when I decided to open the virtual assistant company, I realized that that was one of the things that entrepreneurs were looking for, you know, like research podcasts in which they could guested.

Quote #2 “I started with one entrepreneur that said, okay, you’re new. Let me try you out and see how many, how many interviews you can get me in a month. Um, and she was expecting two or three, you know, and the very first month I got her eight interviews. Eight interviews. I didn’t expect that. Yeah. She was my first client and she didn’t expect that. So she’s like, how do you do this?

Quote #3 “So I go and look for business podcast’s that are out there, and I go ahead and read their descriptions and I highlight the ones that I need to listen to and I take the time to listen to one, or two different chapters, sometimes more, but I listen to and, my VA’s do the same thing. They listen to the podcast.
