Katey Laurel has a heart of Gold, you can feel it in her Music! - dHarmic Evolution Podcast

The artistic roots of singer-songwriter Katey Laurel are both deep and diverse. Born to free-spirited, nature-loving parents in the early 1980s, she spent the first years of her life traveling coast-to-coast in a Volkswagen bus. When her family eventually made a lifestyle change from the freewheeling hippie life to settling on a ranch adjacent to national forest and 70 square mile wilderness area in rural northwestern Colorado, the isolated environment spurred Katey’s young imagination.  She naturally turned to creative pursuits. A lover of horses from an early age, she began drawing and painting her equine muses, and also began studying piano.

She draws inspiration from many musical styles—from the bluegrass and Appalachian roots records of her family’s early “hippie years” to the classic rock of Stevie Nicks and The Who; from 80s dance-pop cassettes including Debbie Gibson and Paula Abdul to the alternative rock of the 1990s; and from the classical roots of her musical training to the piano-rock of Ben Folds Five. (Throw in a bit of Sarah McLachlan, Over The Rhine and Dixie Chicks for good measure.)

They formed a co-writing partnership which resulted in Amanda’s tracks ‘Free Falling’, ‘Live For Now’ and more recently ‘Summer’s Day’ ‘Belle Epoque’ and ‘I Am Not You’ all of which are particularly pop-folk in style. Amanda is currently writing with country-pop writers based in the US, and is set to record a new album in 2015 (including new country-pop tracks she has been pitched by writers of a high calibre and who are receiving much radio play throughout America) with her acoustic band.

Ann Burstyn

“Tremendously powerful rock textures and operatic range of Ann’s voice intertwine , Dream Aria is a very talented ensemble fronted by an outstanding vocalist ” 5/5 — Musical Discoveries

“Dream Aria’s first album In The Wake received critical acclaim after release in 2005. The band went on to record contributions to other artists’ work before releaseing the masterpiece Transcend in 2008. Since then they have become even more active on the web and have hosted live concerts to expand their footprint of live music played for world audiences. Work on Fallen Angel began in earnest in June when the demo tracks really began to take shape and form the structure of the new album. Like prior Dream Aria albums, the music is diverse. The majority of the tunes are upbeat rockers, each with a different sort of instrumental excursion to better develop the sound of each track. Ann Burstyn’s lead and backing vocals are again perfectly mixed with harmonies adding depth to round out the overall texture the band have produced. Don and Ann have done a tremendous job on this new project and clearly have a lot more music in their future. Bravo!” — Russ Elliot, Musical Discoveries

I’m a natural talented songwriter, arranger, composer, vocalist/frontman, producer and getting used to engineering my own works. I’ve played with some prominent musicians and groups in my musical career spanning from my teenage years ; this is what experience is all about…when you can play and improvise to any sound…guess, action speaks louder than words so I’ll stop here and get on with music production….thanks for reading and hope this inspires you never to give up on your aspirations and always, aim at the centre….there, you’ll find peace and love…bless and blissup idren.
